Measure the whole journey.
Count the trip out, the return and likely detours. Do not choose a battery whose rated range only just equals that total.
Know what uses the reserve.
Hills, acceleration, higher speed, rider weight, low tire pressure, cold weather and wind can reduce range. Battery condition also changes over time.
Compare battery capacity with context.
Voltage and amp-hours work together. The G2 Max has a 48 V, 20.8 Ah battery, while the G2 Master has a 52 V, 20.8 Ah battery and a different motor system. A matching amp-hour number does not mean an identical battery or ride.
Learn your own route gradually.
Start with shorter rides and record the conditions and remaining charge. Keep a conservative margin for the return trip. The useful number is the distance your setup consistently covers in your conditions.
