How fast does each KuKirin go?

Top speed, speed modes and climb rating for all five KuKirin scooters you can order, from 28.0 mph on the G2 to 43.5 mph on the G4.

How fast does each KuKirin go?

The G4 hits 43.5 mph. The G2 tops out at 28.0. The other three KuKirins you can order today land in between, and the one that fits you depends as much on your hills and your distance as on top speed.

ModelTop speedHill climbMotor
G443.5 mph30° (58%)2000W
G2 Master37.3 mph28° (53%)2 × 1000W
G2 Max34.2 mph22° (40%)1000W
G2 Ultra31.1 mph26° (49%)2 × 800W
G228.0 mph20° (36%)800W

G4: 43.5 mph, the fastest of the five

The G4 runs a 2000W motor on a 60V 20Ah battery. Mode 1 caps it at 12.4 mph and mode 2 at 24.9, and mode 3 takes it all the way to 43.5 mph. Wide 11-inch tubeless tires and suspension front and rear keep it steady when the pavement gets rough at speed.

It also carries the biggest battery of the five, rated for up to 46.6 miles, and has a 30° climb rating, about a 58% grade. The catch is weight: at 78.3 pounds, it's a lot to haul up a flight of stairs.

G2 Master: 37.3 mph, built for hills

Two 1000W motors drive both wheels on a 52V 20.8Ah battery, and you pick one motor or both on the display. On one motor it tops out at 34.2 mph and goes easier on the battery on flat roads. With both on, it hits 37.3 mph and climbs a 28° slope, about 53%.

With both wheels pulling, it also grips better on wet pavement. And it's the only one of the five with hydraulic suspension front and rear, which takes the sting out of potholes and broken asphalt. It's rated for up to 43.5 miles and weighs 73 pounds.

G2 Max: 34.2 mph for the long commute

One 1000W motor on a 48V 20.8Ah battery. Its three modes sit at 9.3, 24.9 and 34.2 mph, so mode 1 is slow enough for a crowded path and mode 3 keeps up with city traffic.

If you have a long commute, this is the one we'd point you to. It's rated for up to 43.5 miles, 9.3 more than the G2. That's as far as the G2 Master goes, for less money. It weighs 69.7 pounds. Its climb rating is 22°, about 40%, so if your route has steep hills every day, look at the G2 Ultra or the G2 Master, where both wheels pull.

G2 Ultra: 31.1 mph and two motors for less

Two 800W motors drive both wheels on a 48V 18Ah battery, with modes at 15.5, 21.7 and 31.1 mph. It's quick off the line and climbs a 26° slope, about 49%.

At 68.3 pounds it's lighter than the single-motor G2 Max, and it costs less than the G2 Master, our other dual-motor scooter. It's rated for up to 34.2 miles.

G2: 28.0 mph at 55.8 pounds

An 800W motor on a 48V 15.6Ah battery, with modes at 15.5, 21.7 and 28.0 mph. That's quick enough for city traffic, and at 55.8 pounds it's the lightest of the five, the easiest one to carry up a few steps. It still gets suspension front and rear, 10-inch tubeless tires, a 20° climb rating (about 36%) and up to 34.2 rated miles.

Why the numbers line up this way

The two fastest scooters also run the highest-voltage batteries: 52V on the G2 Master and 60V on the G4. The other three run on 48V.

Climb ratings follow total motor power: 2000W on the G4 and the G2 Master, 1600W across the G2 Ultra's two motors, 1000W on the G2 Max and 800W on the G2. The G2 Ultra out-climbs the G2 Max (26° against 22°) even though its top speed is lower. A second motor also means both wheels pull, so you keep your grip on wet or torn-up hills. If that's your daily ride, start with the G2 Master. If the ride is long and mostly flat, look at top speed and range.

Three speed modes on all five

Every KuKirin here has three speed modes. Mode 1 is for crowded paths and for getting to know the scooter, and mode 3 is the full top speed. Start in mode 1 and open it up when you're ready.

Brakes and tires

All five stop with disc brakes front and rear. Pads and tires are the parts that wear as you ride, and we stock them for every model: G4, G2 Master, G2 Max, G2 Ultra and G2.

Still deciding? See all five side by side on the compare page, or email support@officialkukirin.store with how far you ride and how steep it gets. We'll reply within 12 hours with the one we'd get.
